Booking a cleaner for the first time can feel like a small unknown, especially if you're used to handling everything yourself. A little preparation makes the first visit run smoothly for everyone.
You don't need to clean before the cleaner arrives
This is the most common misconception. Our team is there to do the cleaning, not to work around a home that's already been tidied. A general pickup of loose items like clothes or toys helps, but the actual cleaning is our job.
Deciding on access
Many of our regular clients provide key access or a door code so they don't need to be home during every visit, particularly for daytime weekday bookings. If you'd prefer to be present, especially for the first visit, that's entirely fine too.
Pointing out anything specific
If there are areas you'd like particular attention on, items you'd prefer weren't moved, or products you'd like avoided for allergies or preference, mentioning these at the start of the first visit helps set expectations clearly.
What happens during the first clean
The first visit to a new home is sometimes a little longer than a standard clean, since the team is getting familiar with the property's layout and any particular quirks, like where cleaning supplies are stored if you're providing your own.
After the first visit
We welcome feedback after your first clean, whether that's confirming everything met expectations or flagging anything you'd like adjusted for future visits. Regular clients often settle into a consistent rhythm with the same cleaner over time, which helps maintain familiarity with your home's specific needs.
