A reputable cleaning company maintains certain boundaries around what staff will and won't do, and understanding these upfront helps set realistic expectations for every booking.
Moving heavy or fragile items
While we move furniture where it's safe to do so, particularly heavy items like wardrobes or fragile valuables are generally left in place unless specifically arranged, to avoid damage or injury risk.
Handling hazardous materials
Cleaning staff aren't equipped or trained to handle genuinely hazardous materials, such as significant mould infestations, biohazards, or chemical spills, which require specialist remediation services rather than standard cleaning.
Climbing beyond safe access points
For safety reasons, cleaners won't climb onto unstable surfaces or attempt access beyond what's safely reachable with standard equipment, even if asked, since this protects both staff and your property.
Working outside the agreed scope without discussion
If something outside the agreed booking scope comes up during a clean, staff will flag it rather than proceeding without discussion, so you're never charged for or surprised by work you didn't explicitly agree to.
Why these boundaries protect you
These limits exist to protect both our staff's safety and your property, rather than being arbitrary restrictions, and a company that's upfront about them is generally more trustworthy than one that promises to do absolutely anything asked.
